Exciting news for Queenslanders was announced today that if elected in October, the Miles Government will make 50 cent fares permanent. 

Out trial is already a success, with a huge uplift in public transport usage meaning more Queenslanders are choosing to leave their cars at home and catch a bus, train or ferry.

Patronage growth compared to the same time in 2023:

Bus - 16%

Ferry - 43.3%

Rail - 23.6%

Light rail - 22.4%

Commuters who travel on the Translink network are saving money on every trip, easing pressure on households.

This initiative is taking more cars off the road, lowering emissions and putting more money back into the pockets of Queenslanders and with a Miles Labor government, it is here to stay.
