Mango Hill Ring Road Connection: Now Open and Transforming Travel

By Chris Whiting MP

25 July 2025

Great news for locals — works have been completed on the new Mango Hill Ring Road Connection! This long-awaited project now extends Lamington Road through to Anzac Avenue, unlocking a smoother, safer way to navigate the area and significantly easing traffic congestion around Mango Hill Village.

Why this matters to you

The $6.8 million, Council‑funded upgrade delivers a critical second entrance into Mango Hill Village and connects both sides of Anzac Avenue—including access to both Mango Hill and Mango Hill East train stations—without forcing residents to travel along the busy arterial route.

Long-time residents and community groups—including the Mango Hill Progress Association—have advocated strongly for this connection, and more than a decade of planning has now paid off.

What was involved

  • Two‑lane median‑divided road: Extending 165 metres from Lamington Road to Anzac Avenue

  • New pedestrian crossing facilities and pathways to improve safety and convenience for walkers

  • On‑road cycle lanes encouraging active transport across the precinct

  • Landscaping improvements to enhance streetscape appeal and community character

What’s now complete—and what it delivers

From today, the final stage is fully open—complete with traffic signals at the intersection of Anzac Avenue and Capestone Boulevard—and the road is fully linked into the larger ring network of Memorial Drive, Halpine Drive, Mango Hill Boulevard, Capestone Boulevard and Lamington Road.

Residents can now:

  • Enjoy seamless travel between North Lakes and Mango Hill Village

  • Bypass congestion on the state-controlled Anzac Avenue

  • Access train stations more easily, with safe routes for walking, cycling, and driving

  • Experience an upgraded entranceway to the village, with greenery, pedestrian infrastructure, and better connectivity

Looking ahead

The Mango Hill Ring Road Connection is now fully operational, but this isn't simply an end—it’s a launchpad for future infrastructure developments that promise even better connectivity in the years ahead. As North Lakes and Mango Hill continue to grow, this project lays a strong foundation for safer, more efficient travel across the region.
