Premier David Crisafulli has broken his promise to deliver generational infrastructure on time and on budget.

As a result of his broken promises Queenslanders will be stuck in traffic, left on the ramp and less safe.

The Crisafulli LNP Government’s Budget reveals the Premier has delayed and cut $4.9 billion in infrastructure projects across three major portfolios.

Budget Paper 2 reveals the Premier delayed $1.18 billion in health infrastructure, $0.554 billion in transport and $.235 billion in public order and safety during the 2025-26 financial year.

Compared to the forecast figures last budget, the Premier has delayed and cut $0.862 billion in health infrastructure, $1.154 billion in transport and $0.964 billion in public order and safety in the upcoming 2026-27 financial year.

Over those two financial years, the Premier has delayed and cut $4.859 billion in critical infrastructure.

These cuts and delays are evidence of the Premier’s broken promise after vowing to deliver generational infrastructure and not push projects into the never never.

“I don’t want to see projects put into the Never Never. I want to see them delivered now. It’s our state’s hour of need.”

-David Crisafulli

Before the budget, leaked cabinet documents revealed the Premier’s cuts and delays to the Gympie Road Tunnel, Coomera Connector Stage 2, and Mount Crosby Interchange.

The Premier also broke his promise to deliver the hospital beds, delaying construction on expansions and new hospitals from Cairns down to Coomera.

This Premier promised a lot but his budget has delivered the complete opposite, sending Queensland backwards.

Quotes attributable to Queensland Labor Leader Steven Miles:

“The Premier promised to deliver generational infrastructure, instead he is cutting the infrastructure projects this growing state needs.

“While Queenslanders wait in traffic, get stuck on the ramp, or need safety in this community, the Premier is delaying the infrastructure they need.

“This Budget is a budget of broken promises and bad news for Queensland where Queenslanders pay more and get less.”

Quotes attributable to Shadow Treasurer Shannon Fentiman:

“The Premier promised Queenslanders this budget would make Queenslanders’ lives better.

“Make no mistake this Budget does nothing to help Queenslanders.

“This Budget condemns Queenslanders to generations of gridlock.

“Condemns Queenslanders to hours on the ramp at hospitals.

“Under this budget Queenslanders are paying more and getting less.”
